POLICY STATEMENT

1) LESSONS:  Each student will have 4 to 5 lessons per month, depending on how weekdays are spread out for each calendar month. Exceptions include Spring Break, any vacations over the summer, the week of Thanksgiving, and the month of December, in which the student will have 2 to 3 lessons before Winter Break.        

2) PAYMENT:  At the beginning of each month, I will send out an invoice via Venmo or Zelle. Full tuition is due each month by the 10th. After that time, lessons will be suspended until payment. If for any reason, the student decides to no longer take lessons, please give at least 2 weeks of advance notice so that I may plan accordingly for the following month.

3) CANCELLATIONS:  Please allow at least 24-hours advance-notice when possible. I understand cancellations with less than 24 hours of advance notice due to illness/emergency are inherently unexpected and valid, so all I ask is that last-minute cancellations are reserved for this purpose. The parent/student will work together with Serena to reschedule the lesson. If a student is more than 10 minutes late to a lesson and has not contacted me to let me know the reason, I will have to count them as absent and charge for that lesson.

4) HOLIDAYS:  There will be no lessons during major holidays, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Break, and Winter Break. Please let me know if you observe certain holidays so that I may respect them. Lessons that occur on MLK Day and Presidents' Day will be rescheduled if the student has plans and cannot make their regular lesson.        

5) VACATION:  If the student or teacher go on vacation during the school-year, each missed lesson will be rescheduled within 3 weeks. Over the summer, I encourage students to continue lessons but they do not need to make up lessons missed due to vacation or travel, etc.

6) SUPPLIES:  Piano students must have a piano/keyboard on which to practice. I also recommend that voice students have a piano, as well as a full-length mirror. Virtual students will need to have a pencil at the ready during lessons. I will provide materials when able, but otherwise instructional books and sheet music must be purchased by parents/guardians/students.
